SENECA COMMUNITY PLAYERS TO AUCTION OFF ROLES
FOR ………WILLY WONKA!
Come join the Seneca Community Players as they host a new and exciting event! On May 13th, 2016, they will auction off all the roles for their upcoming musical production of “Willy Wonka” scheduled to go up July 15-17th. The highest bidders win the roles!
SCP is looking for adults of all ages and children 5th grade and up. Depending on your role, there will be 2 months to learn lines, blocking, singing & dancing. There are sets to build, props and costumes to find, and make-up to apply. Think of this as a theatre bootcamp and the opportunity to learn what it takes to put on a production.
Those hoping to win a role can boost their bidding power by finding sponsors to pledge their support. All money raised will support SCP’s mission to foster, arouse, and help broaden the interest, availability, and appreciation of the theatre arts in Seneca and the surrounding counties. All contributions of auction items will be greatly appreciated and are tax deductible. Sponsor forms will be available here, April 13th at www.senecacommunityplayers.org or WomanMade Products – 91 Fall St. Seneca Falls.
In addition to the Willy Wonka roles being auctioned, there will be wonderful items donated by local businesses, organizations, and individuals available through live and silent auction. The auctioneer for this event will be Ms. Carol Ritter-Wright – a veteran of the SCP stage. It should prove to be an exciting evening! To learn more about how you can donate an item for the auction or questions about this “fun”-raising evening, please contact event coordinator, Susie Cornett, at 315-967-3SCP or email email@example.com
Follow their auction Facebook page – “Seneca Community Players Auction Theatre” for updated info and ways to win tickets to SCP’s “Willy Wonka” musical.

Auditions for the second production in Seneca Community Players’ season “The 39 Steps” will be held February 29 and March 1 at 7pm-8pm Seneca Falls library:
1 male 30s to 40s
1 female 30s to 40s
2 males or females (or 1 each) any adult age.
(this is a very physical comedy intensive show)
Set in 1935 this is a hysterical, high speed, melodramatic comedy in the Hitchcock style. Richard Hannay recounts his breathtaking adventure fighting the criminal underground organization The 39 Steps. He takes the audience along for high speed chases, romance, death defying stunts, and runaway trains across 4 countries, 5 languages and love lost and found again. Four actors portray 150 characters in this delightful, fast moving hilariously funny comedy.
Seneca Community Players will be holding Auditions Monday & Tuesday, January 4 & 5, for the first show of their 2016 season.
What the Butler Saw, a farce written by the English playwright Joe Orton was the final play and the second to be performed after his death will be directed by Nicholas J. Goodman.
The story revolves around the Prentices, an unusual couple. Dr. Prentice runs his own exclusive psychiatric hospital and believes that the best way to interview a woman is by seducing her.
Geraldine, his prospective new secretary, does her best to comply. Meanwhile, Mrs. Prentice has been seduced by a bellhop at a fancy hotel, or did she seduce him? She brings him along to her husband’s hospital, just in time for a visit from the state inspector. Even a loopy policeman finds himself thrown into the madness. As the day progresses, chaos runs rampant as people disappear, shocking new discoveries are made, and identities are mistaken.
Roles are available for four men ranging in ages 18 – 70 and two women ranging in ages 18 – 50. Actors should come dressed comfortably to move and will read from the script, no preparation is necessary.
Auditions will be held at 6:30 Monday & Tuesday January 4 & 5 on the lower level at 115 Fall Street in Seneca Falls. The performances will be held on February 19, 20, 21, 26 and 27 in the Delavan Theater on the New York Chiropractic College campus.
