SENECA FALLS, NY August 1, 2023 ——-
Seneca Community Players celebrated its 51st year of quality amateur theatre in the Finger Lakes with a full main stage season in our newly renovated space, the Lafayette Theater in the former Waterloo Main St. School. This year saw two major musicals, the return of the haunted house, a comedy and a drama to go along with our much love Christmas radio play Merry Christmas George Bailey! We celebrated the return of old friends and welcomed many new theater lovers to SCP. As we are setting our sights on Season 52 we would love for you to Come Play with Us.
Whether you have directed for us in the past or if this is your first time to bring your talents to the SCP stage, we welcome your proposals. If there is a show you’ve been itching to bring to the stage but have never directed before we still have a place for you in the SCP family.
Proposals for dramatic, comedic, and musical productions are now being accepted by the SCP Season Planning Committee. Our 2022 Season will offer a production in each of four time slots; spring (January-April), summer (May –July), fall (August-October) and Winter (November-December). We will also consider proposals for a “Young Players” production during the summertime slot. While you may choose any date within your proposed time slot all proposals must include two consecutive weekends in the production dates. If you are interested in submitting a proposal, please complete the Proposal Form located on the forms/policies tab of our website at www.senecacommunityplayers.org. Please fill out the form as completely as possible and submit it with a copy of your proposed script to Seneca Community Players Season Planning PO Box 45, Seneca Falls, NY 13148. Proposals may also be submitted electronically to our Season Planning Committee at info@senecacommunityplayers.org. All proposals must be submitted no later than October 18, 2023, for consideration.
Proposals will be reviewed by the SCP Season Planning Committee and potential directors may be asked to attend a meeting of the SCP Board of Directors to discuss your proposal prior to its acceptance. Director’s whose proposals have been accepted will be notified prior to the Board of Directors meeting in November, and the full SCP 2022 season will be announced in January.
